January 27, 2016, From the Boston Business Journal: “Organizers for this spring’s 2016 ISU World Figure Skating Championships at TD Garden are projecting that the week-long event will pump over $30 million into the local economy. And that doesn’t even include the money generated by ticket sales and whatever else is sold (concessions and souvenirs) at the Garden.

“It’s an economic opportunity for our city,” said Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh about the world championships at Tuesday’s media day at the Garden, which was also attended by Charlie Jacobs, the CEO form Delaware North’s Boston Holdings, which owns the Garden, and Doug Zeghibe, the executive director of the The Skating Club of Boston and one of the main organizers for the world championships.”
