Formal Education:
Graduated from Harvard University in 2003 with a B.A. in Government/International Relations

Personal Profile:
As a skater, I trained for 9 years under World and Olympic Hall of Fame Coaches Evy and Mary Scotvold (most famous for coaching Nancy Kerrigan and Paul Wylie). I was a national medalist, international champion, and a member of the U.S. Figure Skating Team for 4 years. As a coach, I served as Evy and Mary Scotvold’s Assistant Coach for 4 summers, teaching specialized jumping and spinning techniques to their competitive and elite skaters. I have been a Staff Coach at The Skating Club of Boston since 2011 and am a PSA rated coach in both Free Skating and Moves in the Field.

Off the ice, I serve as a Director of Shiboomi LLC, a Boston-based strategy and management consulting firm as well as a Director of the company’s investment bank, Shiboomi Capital. I have worked with the company since 2003 helping companies and projects from around the world get developed and funded.

I co-founded the Harvard University Figure Skating Club and currently serve as Head Coach of the Harvard University Figure Skating Team. I also have some experience in ice hockey and was a member of Harvard’s Junior Varsity Women’s Ice Hockey Team.

Focus on competitive and recreational Free Skating, Moves in the Field, Choreography, and Beginner Hockey Skills. I specialize in striving to develop well-rounded athletes who seek to excel both on and off the ice.

Affiliation with U.S. Figure Skating, PSA, ISU:
Currently serve on U.S. Figure Skating’s Strategic Planning Committee as well as specialized strategic planning task force teams. Over the years have served on numerous additional U.S. Figure Skating Committees and held leadership positions including serving on the U.S. Figure Skating Board of Directors, Finance Committee, Marketing Committee, Singles Committee, Athlete’s Advisory Committee, Nominating Committee, Sports Medicine and Science Committee, and Athlete Alumni Committee.

Coaching Philosophy:
My goal as a coach is to spread my love for and knowledge of the sport of figure skating to skaters of all levels and abilities. My approach to coaching is very well-rounded, personalized, and comprehensive. I encourage excellence in not only technique, artistry, complementary off-ice work, and work ethic on the ice but also in academics, interests outside of skating, and developing exemplary personal character. I strive to accelerate my students’ advancement through the sport while helping them gain all of the many positive life skills and healthy attributes that the sport affords.
