HP1240 Seminar: Stretch to Win

Join the Club’s off-ice trainer, Mara Smith, for a performance enrichment seminar that focuses on maximizing stretching routines and the importance of flexibility. Participants will gain insight to the large muscles groups of the human body, including what these muscle groups do for a skater and how to effectively stretch them. In addition, this seminar will go into detail on dynamic warm-ups that skaters can incorporate into their daily practices and competition warm-ups. Participants will also have the opportunity to explore static stretching and how to modify these stretches to better serve each individual athlete.

Mara Smith is the founder of Precision Athletic Training LLC. As a former competitive figure skater, she has served on the medical team for many national and international figure skating events. Mara holds a bachelor’s degree in athletic training from the University of Delaware as well as a master’s degree in sport management from the California University of Pennsylvania.
