2021-2022 Events Season
at The Skating Club of Boston

August 10-15, 2021

Cranberry Open

  • In its 40th year and previously hosted by Yarmouth Ice Club, the competition is permanently moving to Norwood and will be hosted by The Skating Club of Boston.
  • Events include well balanced, adult, Excel and pairs.

Cranberry Cup

  • In its inaugural season, the Cranberry Cup is an international competition to be held in conjunction with the Cranberry Open for international singles and pairs competitors in junior and senior events.

Lake Placid Ice Dance International

  • This international junior and senior ice dance competition will be held at The Skating Club of Boston for one year while the Lake Placid Olympic Center is under construction.

September 15-19, 2021

U.S. International Figure Skating Classic

  • Hosted by U.S. Figure Skating, this is a senior international competition for singles and ice dance competitors selected by the athletes’ Federations.

U.S. Challenge Skate

  • Hosted by U.S. Figure Skating, this is a developmental competition for novice and junior competitors (disciplines to be determined by U.S. Figure Skating).
  • Registration information will be sent to qualified athletes by U.S. Figure Skating.

September 30 – October 3, 2021

Boston Open

  • This is an annual, nonqualifying competition hosted by The Skating Club of Boston.
  • It is the last large competition in the northeast prior to the start of the U.S. Championship Series presented by Toyota.

November 8-13, 2021

U.S. Championship Series

  • The Norwood competition is one of a series of eight competitions giving athletes the opportunity to compete for advancement to the 2022 Toyota U.S. Figure Skating Championships or assignment to the National High Performance Development Team. Advancement is based on each skater’s highest score earned, rather than placement at each competition.
  • The Norwood competition is near the end of the Championship Series calendar and will feature singles and pairs events in juvenile to senior.

December 3-4, 2021

A Grand Opening Celebration to Benefit the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation

  • The Club’s long-awaited opening celebration will be held in partnership with the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation.
  • Headlining events begin Saturday morning with a Frozen 5K (skate-a-thon) and conclude with an evening cocktail reception, A Grand Opening Celebration ice show and gala dinner with special guests from around the country.

January 25-30, 2022

Eastern Synchronized Skating Sectional Championships

  • The competition typically welcomes upwards of 150 east-coast-based synchronized skating teams with nearly 2,500 athletes.
  • Juvenile through senior-level teams compete for an opportunity to advance to the U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships, in Colorado Springs (March 2022).

U.S. Synchronized Skating International Classic

  • One of five international competitions included in the ISU Challenger Series for Synchronized Skating, this competition is expected to draw 12 international teams at the junior and senior levels.

February 26, 2022

Norwood 150th Celebration

  • The Skating Club of Boston is pleased to host a celebration show and reception to commemorate the Town of Norwood’s 150th anniversary.

April 1-3, 2022

Ice Chips

  • The Club’s beloved, annual skating spectacular returns after a two-year hiatus and promises to shine for the first time in the Tenley E. Albright Performance Center.
  • Technical rehearsal will be held on Friday, April 1, followed by two shows on Saturday, April 2, and a matinee show on Sunday, April 3.

April 19-24, 2022

Nations’ Cup and Adult Gold Cup

  • Nations’ Cup & Adult Gold Cup are held every other year and are the two most prestigious international Theatre On Ice competitions.
  • Teams are selected to participate by their country’s governing body, and American teams are selected by U.S. Figure Skating’s Theatre On Ice Subcommittee.
