DESCRIPTION:The Adult Community Activities Committee (ACAC) is hosting another Zoom workshop in preparation for the upcoming competitive season. Join U.S. Figure Skating Officials Elliot Schwartz\, Sarahjayne Howland and Chia Ying Lee via Zoom on Thursday\, February 10th\, at 7:00 pm. \nRegister Today\nOur U.S. Officials\nElliot Schwartz has been a U.S. Figure Skating official for 20 years. He holds the appointments of ISU and National Data Replay Operator\, National Accountant\, National Judge for Synchro\, Sectional Judge for Singles & Pairs\, and Regional Technical Controller for Singles. Elliot has a PhD in Materials Engineering and Bachelor’s degrees in Applied Math and Materials Science and Engineering from MIT. He currently works as a Data Analytics Consultant with the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee. \nSarahjayne Howland fell in love with skating as a singles competitor at age 10 and later skated with the Team Boston Adult Synchronized Skating Team. She has been a US Figure Skating Official for ten years\, serving as a Gold Test Judge and Chair of the NEICC High School Program. Away from the ice\, she is a former Walt Disney World Entertainer and current Mass General Brigham Nurse. \nChia Ying Lee is an Adult skater\, US Figure Skating judge\, and also a Co-chair of the ACAC. Chia started skating as a young adult in sunny Singapore\, and continued through multiple cross-globe and cross-continent moves\, before settling down in Boston. She recently started judging as a different way to be connected to the sport\, earning her first Bronze Singles Test Judge appointment in 2020\, and non-qualifying Competition Judge appointment in 2021. As an Adult skater herself\, Chia understands the unique needs and challenges faced by Adult skaters\, and is committed to supporting Adult figure skating in the Boston area and beyond.

DESCRIPTION:On Friday\, June 17th\, please join The Skating Club of Boston for its annual celebration of the Club membership at the 2022 Club Awards Banquet. This year’s theme is Masquerade\, and the evening is planned as a very special and welcome return to our traditional in-person celebration. \nWe encourage everyone to dress to impress with their very own unique costume mask to add to the fun and the mystery. (Surgical masks are encouraged but still optional.) DESCRIPTION:The Adult Community Activities Committee invites you to the upcoming Figures Workshop on Sunday\, November 13th\, from 8:00 pm – 9:50 pm. Register today and learn how to improve your skating skills with proper edge development. Led by Club coaches\, Elin Schran and Kim Wheeland\, this workshop teaches necessary alignment skills and allows skaters the chance to explore the foundation of the sport – school figures. \nWhether you’re a beginner or a patch-pro\, the ice is yours to use for a more in-depth exploration of figures. This workshop is open to all ages and abilities.
