DESCRIPTION:When: Saturday\, September 24\, 2022\, at 7:00 PM\nWhere: The Skating Club of Boston – West Rink | 750 University Avenue\, Norwood\, MA 02062\nIce Dance International (IDI)\, New England’s premier ice dancing performing arts company\, launches its tour this fall. This is the nonprofit organization’s eighth season. IDI’s new show ‘Grace: The Power of Dance on Ice’\, features ten world-class figure skaters including two-time U.S. Champion Alissa Czisny\, and U.S. Open Champions Kseniya Ponomaryova and Collin Brubaker. \nThe tour runs from September 17 – October 9\, 2022\, at a variety of venues in Maine\, New Hampshire\, Vermont\, New York\, Pennsylvania\, New Jersey\, and Massachusetts. These will be the first ticketed performances since the pandemic began. IDI Founder and Artistic Director Douglas Webster says\, “We have created a new repertoire with an incredibly talented group of skaters. Grace is a theatrical journey on ice with dynamic\, athletic movement that showcases beautiful artistic skating. The choreography and music\, combined with the ability of our powerful skaters\, promises to transport the audience with the hope to provide some peace during these turbulent times.” \nGrace celebrates the art of dance on ice and features works by choreographers from the 2022 Olympic games\, including Benoit Richaud\, Rohene Ward\, and Cindy Stuart\, the leading choreographer for Disney on Ice. DESCRIPTION:The Frog Pond Skating Spectacular will be held on Thursday\, December 1st\, at 5:00 pm! Join the City of Boston and The Skating Club of Boston for a FREE ice show featuring competitive figure skaters from The Skating Club of Boston and special guest star – Olympic Medalist\, Ashley Wagner! \nImmediately following the show\, Boston’s Mayor Michelle Wu\, the Boston Parks and Recreation Department\, and title sponsor The Province of Nova Scotia will host Boston’s signature holiday celebration\, the 81st Annual Boston Common Tree Lighting\, from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm adjacent to the Visitor’s Information Center at 139 Tremont Street. \nThe Frog Pond will be open for public skating after the show until 9:00 pm. \n\nAbout the Show\nThe Frog Pond Skating Spectacular is a free\, annual figure skating show produced by The Skating Club of Boston at the Boston Common Frog Pond. The Club produces two shows each year\, at the Boston Common Tree Lighting ceremony and also during First Night Boston. The outdoor shows offers the public a chance to see national and international competitive figure skaters\, soloists\, groups\, wee skaters\, and Team Excel Synchronized Skating and Theatre On Ice of Boston teams all in the middle of the historic and iconic Boston Common. \n\n
