Support the Club community on Giving Tuesday

Today, December 1st, The Skating Club of Boston is participating in Giving Tuesday. Started in 2012 by the 92nd Street Y and the United Nations Foundation as a response to the commercialization and consumerism on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday is a global movement that unleashes the power of people and organizations to transform their communities. Whether you are a part of our membership, alumni family, coaching staff or management team, we hope you will consider giving to the Club community.

Your generosity will directly benefit the Club’s capital campaign and help bring it to a close. Every dollar that the Club does not spend on finishing the facility can be spent on Club programs. Your support has never been more critical than now, while many of the Club’s important programs have been closed or are significantly restricted by the pandemic. These programs are critical because their proceeds typically help underwrite the overall annual operations of the Club. This year’s shortfall will include the restrictions on The Skating Academy, the current closure of the Frog Pond skating rink; and the elimination or postponement of all revenue-generating events in the Club’s Performance Center. All of these programs are integral to sustaining the Club and its one-of-a-kind community.

This is an exceptional year for The Skating Club of Boston in so many ways: exceptional highs with the opening of our new facility, and exceptional challenges with the onslaught of the pandemic. The Club will persevere because of the strength of its community, which is why member and alumni support very much matters. We hope you will consider a contribution, of any amount, to the Club today.
