Club Location
The Skating Club of Boston is located at 750 University Avenue in Norwood, Massachusetts, and is easily accessible from Interstates 95, 495, 93 and Route 1. The Club is approximately 30 minutes from Boston, 40 minutes from Providence, Rhode Island, and an hour from Nashua, New Hampshire. For those traveling by Amtrak or the MBTA Commuter Rail, the Route 128 Station is located at 50 University Avenue in Westwood, MA, approximately 1.5 miles from the Club.
Parking
Parking passes are required to park at The Skating Club of Boston or its adjacent lot. A parking pass is only valid for one performance of Ice Chips. If you plan on attending multiple performances, you will need a parking pass for each performance. Limited parking is available at 750 University Avenue and the Club’s adjacent, satellite lot at 846 University Avenue. Guests who pre-purchased parking will have a digital ticket that can be scanned when entering the parking lot. At this time, parking passes may only be purchased in advance at scboston.org/tickets, and no on-site parking sales are planned, as to expedite the entry and parking of all guests attending the shows.
If you or your guests require ADA parking, ADA-accessible spots will be available at 750 University Avenue to those with both a purchased parking pass and a state-issued ADA placard. Any inquiries regarding ADA parking should be directed to tickets@scboston.org.
Shuttles
A complimentary shuttle service will operate between the Route 128 MBTA Garage and the Club every ten minutes, beginning two hours prior to the scheduled start of each performance.
To accommodate larger shuttles, the shuttle’s pick-up location will not be in the interior of the MBTA garage, but instead at the Del Frisco’s Grille parking lot adjacent to the restaurant. The Del Frisco’s Grille restaurant is located directly across from the Route 128 MBTA Garage’s entrance on Blue Hill Drive. A Club representative will be at the restaurant parking lot to answer any questions you may have. A map indicating the pick-up and drop-off spot for the shuttle service can be found here.
Entering the Club
Doors will open 90 minutes prior to the scheduled start of the show.
All ticket holders will enter the Club through the East or West stairwell at the front of the building. A physical or electronic ticket will be required to enter.
If you or your guests require the use of an elevator, we ask that you enter the West stairwell as that is the closest entrance to an elevator.
Security Screening
The Skating Club of Boston is committed to ensuring a safe, comfortable and enjoyable experience for all spectators. Everyone, including staff, will be subject to a security screening each time they enter the facility to determine if they are carrying any illegal, prohibited, or suspicious items that may disrupt the show, or pose a threat to the building, staff, athletes or other guests.
A full list of prohibited items can be found here.
Screening procedures are in place to address guests with specific needs in accordance with ADA requirements.
Visitors who refuse screening will be respected, but denied entry.
Clear Bag Policy
For faster entry and enhanced security, a clear bag policy will be in effect throughout the event. Each ticket holder is allowed to enter with one (1) bag that is clear plastic, vinyl or PVC that does not exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12″ OR a one-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar). We recommend minimizing any valuables that you bring with you.
Wallets and small purses similar in size to a wallet will be allowed.
Guests with prohibited items will not be permitted entry to the arena. The Skating Club of Boston does not provide on-site storage.
Health and Safety
At this time, face masks are strongly encouraged for each individual’s own safety in crowds, but they are not required. Policies are subject to change based on updated Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidance, local and state requirements, as well as guidance from U.S. Figure Skating.
Food and Beverage Options
Outside food is not allowed in the facility. All food served is prepared in-house by our Executive Chef. A variety of options will be available including freshly made soups, wraps, mashed potato bowls and other event favorites.
Those with dietary restrictions are asked to inquire at the concession stands as to what is available that day.
Alcoholic beverages may not be brought into or removed from the premises. All purchasers of alcohol must present proof-of-age identification. No one under the age of 21 years can consume or possess any alcohol at any time. The Skating Club of Boston reserves the right to check for proper identification and refuse service to any person who appears to be intoxicated. Individuals causing a disturbance will be required to leave the premises. All alcohol must be consumed and disposed of on the Mezzanine level.
