Architect’s rendering of the Club’s history wall at the new facility.
The Club is calling on all members, past and present, to submit photographs for consideration to be included on the history wall of the Club’s new facility in Norwood. The history wall, which will run the entire length of the 2,500 seat Performance Center, is dedicated to cementing the legacy and the rich tradition of The Skating Club of Boston through key events and people in its 100-plus year history.
To ensure that the Club’s visual history is both vibrant and complete, all members and alumni are encouraged to go through their scrapbooks and photo albums to find and submit photos of the following subjects from all decades:
Notable Club coaches
Founders of the Club and U.S. Figure Skating
Key events in the Club’s history
Club-hosted competitions, test sessions and Ice Chips performances
All aspects of daily life as a skater at the Club
Friendships and community!
All photos will be reviewed with care, and the most fitting will be selected to live at The Skating Club of Boston and help tell its storied history for the next 100 years. Please join the Club community in honoring the rich history established at 1240 Soldiers Field Rd., and carrying it proudly forward in the Club’s new, Norwood home.
The deadline to submit photos is September 15, 2019.
Physical Photo Submission: Photos that are mailed to the Club will be handled with the utmost care, scanned and returned to the owner. To ensure prompt return of photos, please include a return address and short description of the photo’s subject, setting and date. You may mail multiple photos if you choose.
