Membership at the Club

At the core of The Skating Club of Boston® are its members. Club members are both fans and participants of figure skating, and enjoy the very best the Club’s facility and team of professionals have to offer.

Whether you are new to the sport, a young skater looking to fine-tune your skills, or serious competitor with Olympic aspirations, the Club’s team of professionals will give you the instruction and support your need to be the best skater you want to be. No other skating club in the New England area offers all that The Skating Club of Boston offers for all your skating interests. Whether your passion is singles, pairs, dance, Theater On Ice or synchronized skating, The Skating Club of Boston is the place to best serve your needs.

Club members enjoy favorable ice rates, access to peak-demand ice times, off-ice training facilities, specialty seminars, access to the best coaches in New England, member-only dinners, inclusion in Club-produced shows and competitions, and the opportunity to volunteer and get involved with some of the largest and most important events that U.S. Figure Skating has to offer.

Membership Categories

Introductory Membership
Available to skaters and the families of skaters who are actively participating in a Learn to Skate USA program or have participated in a program within the past calendar year. This membership is valid for the duration of one calendar year.

Membership
Available to parents, guardians, children, and grandchildren under 25 years of age.

Single
Membership
Available to any person who is eighteen (18) years of age or over.

Junior
Membership
Available, in general, to individuals who are over the age of eighteen (18) and under the age of twenty-five (25), with age to be determined as of the commencement of the regular Club season on July 1st.

Officials
Membership
Available to all U.S. Figure Skating appointed test and competition officials, including judges, referees, technical specialists, accountants, and music staff.

Non-Resident
Membership
Available, in general, to families or individuals who have no home, place of study or place of business no less than one hundred (100) miles from Boston.

Satellite
Membership
Available to families or individuals who wish to make the Club ice at the Foxboro Satellite location their primary skating location. Please note that this class of membership does not confer any privileges at the Club’s Boston facility.

Team
Membership
Available to an individual who wishes to participate in either of the Club’s synchronized skating (Team Excel) or the theatre on ice (Theatre On Ice of Boston) programs.

Non-Skating
Membership
Available to those families or individuals currently members of the Club for whom use of the Regular Membership skating privilege is no longer contemplated. A social skating privilege of twelve (12) skates per year is permitted. In the case of a Family Membership, 12 skates per family, not per member of the family, is permitted. Further, skating participation in the Club's annual ice show “Ice Chips” is not permitted to holders of this class of membership.

Supporting
(Skating)
Available to persons who have been members in good standing of the Club for a period of at least ten (10) years and who have attained the age of fifty (50) years. This class of membership gives the privileges of the Club, including skating, to a husband and wife, but not to their children.

(Non-Skating)
Available to those members who have been members in good standing of the Club for at least ten (10) years and who have reached the age of fifty (50). This is a membership which includes no skating privileges and no voting privileges. Skating participation in the Club's annual ice show “Ice Chips” is not permitted to holders of this class of membership.

Remit
Membership
Available to active members and constitutes a reservation for a future return to active status and does not carry with it any of the rights of full membership. Therefore, those whose memberships are on a remission basis have no current standing as Club members and are not entitled to vote on matters relating to the Club, to participate in the Club's social activities, or to skate in the annual ice show “Ice Chips”, but they shall be entitled to receive the Club’s CHIPS newsletter.
