Continuing with updates from Worlds, here is the next post from Gloria Miner, who is currently in Moscow as her son, Ross Miner, prepares to compete at the 2011 World Figure Skating Championships:

Afternoon of April 27, 2011:

The crack of dawn practice went well. Next was the competition… The American boys all skated clean, all within .18 of each other, and all bunched up with several others. All qualified and now sit in 11th, 12th and 13th. Mark [Mitchell] was happy with Ross’s skate, so that’s important. Chan was amazing. Every jump was beautiful, and dancers would kill for his knee bend. I loved Takahashi as well. Such great skating.

The Opening Ceremonies with Premier Putin and the Russian skaters was quite moving, and honored Japan. Quite touching that many Japanese fans had signs thanking the world for all the support. I love them.

Now, off to bed!
