b'Letter From the PresidentHello and Happy Summer! Congratulations and well done! Is it possible our skating season flew past so quickly? My most poignant memory will remain the heartwarming way our Club community came together throughout the year and went FULL THROTTLE! at every opportunity. Highlights are too numerous to fully credit in this short space, however a definite standout was the new chapter in the Clubs history book through the glorious return of Ice Chips, our first show in the new facility. What a thrill it was to welcome reigning Olympic champion Nathan Chen to our fabulous cast!At seasons terminus(I prefer to imagine The Ending Pose!) we heartily applaud each of our skaters who confidently took the ice and skated their hearts out.All sorts of memorable Club experiences were made possible through generous support of our volunteers, staff, coaches, officials, and families, each a defining hallmark of The Skating Club of Boston community. Congratulations to those whose performances earned accolades on the national and international stages!. Those whose season journeys culminated at the 2023 Eastern Sectional Finals or the 2023 Eastern Synchronized Sectional Championships, made quite an impact with determined spirit and sportsmanship. With more wonderful performances still to unfold in the coming weeks and months for disciplines and competitive programs in the middle of qualifying or just beginning their new seasons, we wish you the very best of luck, particularly at the National Theatre On Ice, National Showcase, Excel National Final and Festival, and U.S. Collegiate Figure Skating Championships and Invitational. Ourhighschoolandcollegiatestudentathletesshowcasedwonderfulleadershipabilitiesaswell as athletic and academic successes on and off the ice. The atmosphere, sportsmanship and team enthusiasm among them is fantastic! Our annual Compete USA and Club competitions recently enjoyed a record number of entries. Our adult community continues to thrive and develop wonderful programs for all ages and abilities. We have had an enthusiastic response to the return of Friday Night Ice Dance as well. Our newest members are quickly falling in love with these great Club traditions enjoying the true thrill of being part of our skating family! As the gracious days of summer beckon, find time to recharge your skating spirit. Enjoy a Club weekly social event or seasonal menu in the Frieling Club Lounge, give a Friday social ice dance evening a whirl, try an off-ice dance class at The Kasputys Family Studio, or commit to fitness at The Micheli Center. Better yet, sign up to volunteer and meet new friends. Its a great way to enjoy the Club community! There are no technical requirements, only a love of performance and skating, neither of which are in short supply at The Skating Club of Boston!See you soon in Norwood!Warmly,Ann Buckley2 President'
