Personal Profile:
Experienced and award winning figure skating coach with over 30 years of coaching athletes from grassroots to elite international levels. Co-coaching with husband Fred Palascak, Melanie brings a unique, collaborative approach that combines technical mastery, artistic insight, and athlete mentorship. Proven track record in developing skaters for competition and performance, while fostering confidence and sportsmanship.

As a Staff Coach at The Skating Club of Boston, Melanie coaches all levels of figure skating athletes in one of the nation’s most prestigious clubs. She has developed skaters from Learn to Skate through elite competitive tiers and has served as Head Coach for the Learn to Skate Summer Camp for 6 consecutive years. In addition, she has directed and coached foundational skating programs for beginner-level skaters, designed technical curriculums to promote balance, control, and edge mastery, as well as managed coaching staff and volunteers. As a private coach, she brings 30+ years of experience coaching international, national, sectional, and regional competitive levels. She specializes in program planning, choreography, performance psychology, and technical jump and spin elements.

Massachusetts College of Art
Master in Choreography from American Ice Theatre
Professionally trained in Ballet, jazz, tap and contemporary dance
