Exhibitions
Exhibition ice gives athletes valuable time to run their programs in front of an audience. Review how exhibitions work, compare the two schedules, and request your spot.
How Exhibitions Work
These rules apply to every exhibition.
- Submitting the sign-up form is a request for a spot, not a guarantee.
- A stratified, random draw determines the exhibition order, following a logical framework based on the number of athletes and their competition levels/disciplines.
- Athletes may not ‘switch’ or ‘trade’ their placements with other athletes in the exhibition order.
- Athletes performing in upcoming international or qualifying competitions may be given skate priority.
- Athletes may only request a spot 3 weeks in advance.
- The exhibition schedule is shared via email and should be checked frequently. Changes can occur after the skate order is sent out.

Higher level athletes take priority. Intermediate athletes may be moved to Thursday exhibitions depending on registration numbers for Novice through Senior levels.

Scheduling Priority
When an exhibition reaches capacity, requests are ranked using the same framework.
Priority Order (Descending)

Waitlist and Cancellations

If there's a waitlist and you need to scratch, do it before close of business on the day preceding the exhibition (Summer: the day of the exhibition) to avoid a $25 cancellation fee to your Club account. Waitlisted athletes are ranked using the same priority framework above, so an early scratch clears a spot for the next athlete in line.
Uploading Your Music
Steps to upload music to the Performance Center iPad
- Have a digital copy of your music available in the Files app on your iOS device. Delete past seasons' music to help manage iPad storage and make your file easy to find on exhibition day.
- Be in the direct vicinity of the Rink iPad.
- From Files, share the music file via AirDrop and select the iPad from the ‘Nearby Devices’ list.
- Your music appears in the iPad's Files app as soon as the AirDrop transfer completes.
- Android device, or want your files kept in the music database for future skating at the Club? Email the file(s) to music@scboston.org.
