Important Information

Ice Chips

Club management and the Board of Directors have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2025 production of Ice Chips due to the conflict with the Club’s presentation of the ISU World Figure Skating Championships® 2025. The Club does not have the personnel to produce both events in the same quarter, and it would be folly for the Club to try and sell tickets to both events simultaneously and expect a good turn-out for Ice Chips. While the production of Ice Chips is an important annual tradition for the Club, and an incredibly fun and rewarding experience for our members, it is also the Club’s one annual fundraiser. The show is not inexpensive to produce, and there is too much financial risk for the Club to compete against itself in selling both events at the same time. Because the World  Championships is rarely in the United States and not likely to return to Boston again for several decades, it will always win if
there is a choice between it and another skating event. And for the Club, it will likely generate the same profit from producing the World Championships this next year that it would take more than 15 years of producing Ice Chips.

We fully recognize the disappointment many members will feel as a result of this change, and management is actively working on a schedule of activities throughout the coming year that will offer Club members other options to perform for the public and be recognized for their competitive performance over the course of the season. We plan for the year to end with a fresh take on the Club’s Awards  inner that will likely include rink-side dining and multiple skating performances. Stay tuned for more information as these plans develop  further and are communicated to the membership.

Member Performance Opportunities

At many of the listed events during this season, there will be opportunities for our members to participate in both group and solo performances.  Skaters are welcome to register for as few or as many as they choose.  We encourage you to review the list and make your plans to get involved by the stated deadlines.

Group Skating Opportunities

In a slight change from previous year’s, The Club will present two shows on New Year’s Eve Day this December, and forego a show during the City’s Tree Lighting festivities.  This is to give the public a chance to skate in and around the Tree Lighting activities, and for everyone visiting the Common during the day on New Year’s EVen to also have the opportunity to enjoy a holiday skating show. The two shows on New Year’s Eve will be at 3:00 PM and 5:30 PM, and feature identical group numbers with different soloists for each show.

Another change from last season is that this year’s Frog Pond group numbers will be utilized not only at the Frog Pond Skating Spectacular, but also at the 2025 Club Awards Banquet. We will be reimagining the Club’s Awards Banquet to include awards, rink side dining, and skating performances.

If you are interested in performing in these group numbers, the Club will be hosting an open casting call on Sunday, November 3rd. The planned group numbers will be built around member interest.  You can register at the link below.

Soloist Opportunities

There will be multiple opportunities for Club skaters interested in soloist opportunities to perform in front of a live audience.  Also new this season, members are able to opt into opportunities for the season rather than event-by-event. Completion of the form allows Club management to identify those skaters interested in other soloist opportunities as they may arise throughout the season.

Club management will utilize the established Ice Chips guidelines to determine assignments from those skaters who have indicated interest. Submissions will be accepted on a rolling basis. We encourage everyone to enroll sooner rather than later to maximize their opportunities to perform. You can register at the link below.

Checking Email On File

Members will use their email addresses to log in. If members do not know what email address is associated with their account they should not make a new account. This will not attach the email address to their membership. Please contact the Club and this can be confirmed. Changing the email address on file changes log in to the new email address. This does not change the password, just the email address. This may result in the system logging you out and require you to log back in.

Checking Head of Household

If a person needs to change the Head of Household they need to contact the Club. Changing the Head of Household will change the following:
  • System defaults to this person for charges added to account, and defaults to them as payer for membership
  • Club will default to communications to Head of Household

2025 Club Competition and Club Awards

Club Competition
May 10, 2025

Club Awards
June 14, 2025

Building upon a long-held traditional Club event, this season’s Club Awards will introduce live-skating as part of the evening’s festivities. The group numbers from the Frog Pond Skating Spectacular will be included in the skating portion, as well as Club soloists.  If this sounds like a fun evening, we encourage those who want to attend to save the date.

For newer members, the Club Competition and Club Awards are not uniquely independent events. Many of the awards given at the Club Awards ceremony are determined by placement at the Club Competition. Other awards are voted on either by the award namesake or the Club’s Award Committee. Hint: Dr. Albright actively participates in selecting the awards that are named in her honor.

I already have a Ticketmaster account, what do I do?

If your head of household email in ActiveNet and your Ticketmaster account email match, no action is necessary.

I already purchased an All-Event ticket to the World Championships, do I still need to purchase Exhibition tickets?

The purchase of an All-Event ticket does not exclude you from the membership obligation.

I already purchased an Exhibition ticket as part of my All-Event, have I met my obligation?

The member obligation to the Exhibition of Champions is a dollar amount, not an amount of tickets. Members who purchased tickets in Balcony-level seating may not have met the obligation. A member of the Worlds ticketing team will be contacting you if this is the case.

What do I do if I would like to purchase an All-Event ticket?

If you’re interested in an All-Event ticket, they are available online here for a limited time. After November 1, 2024 you will need to contact tickets@isuworlds2025.com to inquire about availability.
