Dave and Deanna Young
Joelle Young: a member of USFSA since 2001 and SCOB since 2008. A Gold Moves, Intermediate Freestyle, and Silver Dance skater – her favorite skills are layback and double loop! She competed at New Englands, was a synchronized skating national competitor with The Ice Cubes, and a national and international competitor with SCOB’s Senior Theatre on Ice Team, Act One. In 2014, Joelle received the Graduating Seniors Program Platinum Certificate from USFSA. Joelle graduated from Colby College (2018) with a BA in cultural anthropology and environmental studies, she was also President of the Colby FSC. Her favorite memories at SCOB include performing in Ice Chips, skating in the opening number at the 2014 Championships, and being an awards presenter. Joelle is an experienced dancer and choreographer, proficient in ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, and contemporary. She holds an MSc in Environmental Anthropology from the University of Kent in Canterbury, England (2019) and currently works at a sustainability advocacy non-profit in Boston while teaching dance at local studios.
