The Skating Club of Boston is excited to once again partner with Olympic champion and cancer survivor Scott Hamilton, and the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation, to present the Club’s Grand Opening Celebration to Benefit the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation on Saturday, December 4, 2021. The event will at long last formally celebrate the opening of the Club’s new facility, while benefiting the CARES Foundation and both Mass General Brigham and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The highlight of the day will be an evening ice show, silent auction, reception and gala dinner.
On behalf of the Stewardship Gift Committee, we are asking the Club membership to help support the Club’s fundraising effort with a contribution to the silent auction for the Grand Opening Celebration. Do you have a vacation home that could be auctioned off for a weekend trip? Airline miles that you would be willing to donate to be used as part of the vacation getaway packages? Sports tickets are another wonderful donation to be used as part of a sports package auction. Would you be willing to donate gift cards to your favorite restaurant? Or, create your own idea for a gift basket for the raffle. Any other ideas for donations for either the silent auction or raffle would be greatly appreciated. Finally, would you like to volunteer to be involved in the event, the fundraising effort, or to help in any way with the weekend events? Your contribution will directly support the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation and both Mass General Brigham and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to fund life-saving research and advancement in cancer treatments. The attached procurement form can be used to create a description of your donation and to assign it a fair market value. Silent auction donors will be featured on our silent auction website and in marketing collateral for the event.
Additional information on the weekend events, fundraising opportunities and details on the silent auction and raffle will be coming soon. We are excited to partner with Club members in this very important effort and celebration.
