The Phoebe Weston Skater’s Fund
Honoring a Life of Devotion to Family, Community, and Figure Skating

The Phoebe Weston Skater’s Fund was established to honor the extraordinary life and legacy of Phoebe E. Weston, an educator, community leader, tireless volunteer, and lifelong champion of figure skating on Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
A native of Hyannis and West Yarmouth, Phoebe dedicated her life to nurturing young people both in the classroom and on the ice. After graduating from Barnstable High School in 1959, she earned a degree in elementary education and went on to teach first grade at Hyannis West Elementary.
Phoebe’s greatest impact, however, may have been through her decades-long commitment to figure skating. A founding member of the Yarmouth Ice Club, Phoebe was the heart of the Cranberry Open for 24 years, and a driving force behind major skating events across New England. Her leadership, warmth, and tireless work ethic left an indelible mark on everyone she worked with, from skaters and coaches to judges and volunteers.
The Phoebe Weston Skaters Fund carries forward Phoebe’s deep generosity and commitment to the next generation of athletes. Like Marion B. Proctor, whose name graces the Club’s first-floor viewing gallery, Phoebe believed in elevating the sport by creating both opportunity and access. The fund is dedicated to easing the financial burden on families so more young skaters can experience the joy and discipline of figure skating. Just as Phoebe gave so much of herself to lift others up, this fund ensures her legacy lives on. One skater at a time.
