Club Award – The Zeghibe Family Scholar Athlete Award

This award has been established by Doug Zeghibe in recognition of the Zeghibe family’s more than 50-year relationship with The Skating Club of Boston, and their commitment to excellence in sport and education.  The award may be given annually to that Club member who is currently enrolled in an accredited, college-preparatory high school, and who demonstrates personal-best achievement in both their academics and on-ice performance.  On-ice performance is not necessarily tied to success in competition or level of tests passed, but rather to Club-observed achievements of personal-best performance, dedication to the sport, good sportsmanship, integrity with their peers, significant improvement in skating abilities, and competitive performance regardless of placement.

The skater must be a Club member and represent the Club in competition at any level of a U.S. Figure Skating-sanctioned, qualifying event.  The nominee must also demonstrate their academic record for full consideration, either by proof of GPA, school recommendation or recent grade report.  This award may or may not be given each year based upon the qualified candidates.
