Dear Member,
Per the COVID-19 Policy Update just released by U.S. Figure Skating, the Club will follow a similar protocol and reinstitute its mask policy for 750 University Avenue, as of the first session, tomorrow, August 3, 2021. The Club’s policy will be slightly adjusted.
Effective August 3, 2021
Masks must be worn at all times by all members and visitors when entering the Club facility. Masks will not be required for all skaters while on the ice, except for skaters under the age of 12. Children under the age of 12 must wear a mask at all times. Coaches must be masked while on and off the ice.
Masks are not required while outdoors, but we ask everyone to use common sense, especially our coaches, when managing outside, off-ice training activities with their skaters. If in close proximity, it likely makes sense to have the skaters wear masks then as well.
We also recommend whenever possible that members eat outside, and return to social distancing practices as much as possible. This is not a requirement. Not yet, anyway. But in evaluating best practices, it is likely the safest behavior.
None of this is welcome news. But we must continue to chart a course that keeps the Club membership as safe as possible, while still maintaining as much practicality as possible.
We will see where this takes us, and as always, go from there!
Thank you, everyone. For your cooperation and for your ongoing resiliency.
Sincerely,
Doug Zeghibe
Executive Director
